Investment Banking Group

The Investment Banking Group is designed to provide students from Virginia Tech the opportunity to better position themselves for a career in Investment Banking, Private Equity and Hedge funds. The group provides members opportunities of networking, professional development, recruitment preparation, and much more. Financial modeling and valuation are a focus taught by older students, faculty advisors, and alumni.

FinTech Club

The FinTech Club at Virginia Tech helps to promote and connect students from the FinTech Major and/or interested in quantatative strategy analysis and trading. The club seeks to educate students of all majors on FinTech and Big Data Analytics. The club is also working to offer peer mentoring, tutoring and guidance. In addition, The FinTech club hopes to compete in different types of FinTech challenges and competitions during the academic year.

Finance For Females and Friends

Finance for Females and Friends (FFF) is a student-run organization dedicated to empowering women to take control of their financial futures. We endeavor to empower women by offering a secure, comfortable environment that fosters an investment concentrated education. We partner with various companies to host panels, professional development workshops, and social events to educate our members on professions within finance.

The Consulting Group at VT

CGVT works with 10-15 clients annually across a wide variety of service areas, such as growth and marketing strategies, business plan formation, and more! CGVT prides itself on client service excellence, but even more so on member development. New members begin their journey in our robust 8 week course, The Associates Program, and leave with invaluable project experience, a vast network, and the confidence to start their professional career strongly.

Bonds And Securities Investing by Students (BASIS)

BASIS is a student-managed organization investing $5,000,000 of the University's endowment. We have a dual mandate of providing a unique educational experience for all the members while generating competitive returns for the Virginia Tech Foundation. By investing real money, the student members merge the education they are receiving in the classroom with real market experience.

Student-managed Endowment for Educational Development (SEED)

Virginia Tech SEED is a student-managed endowment fund that provides real world experience in investing, networking, and more. SEED is completely student run by undergraduates and invests $5M, on behalf of the Virginia Tech Foundation, in a long only, all equity portfolio. SEED gives students unmatched knowledge in the finance field and propels them to attractive internship and job placement.

CRedit EDucation Investing Team (CREDIT)

CREDIT is a student run group at Virginia Tech that manages a $2 million portfolio of commercial bank loan participations. CREDIT is a one-of-a-kind learning experience where students lend to companies through the acquisition of loan participations offered by partner banking organizations. The program receives its funding through the Virginia Tech Endowment that supports its ongoing initiatives.
